Hello Everyone...
I'm using Oracle 9i as stated...
The problem is when i type:
conn as sysdba
username:
password:
Its accepting any username and password and displaying "Connected".
And all the administrator rights are being given to the user.
This scenario provides no security for my DB...
Please help me get a secured connection for DBA login...
Thanx in advance...
Sarat.

ORA_DBA group is an OS group, you'll find it with user management tool.
SYSDBA password is often given when service is created with oradim or with dbca if you used this tool to create the database.
Read and follow OraFAQ Forum Guide, especially what is said about IM speak and expressions like "urgent" or "as soon as possible".
Regards
Michel
